DD 2012 + Day 13

Watching Christmas movies during the holiday season just might be one of our favorite things about the season. We have a plethora of movies to fit the mood and feel of the holidays and we look for any and every reason to bring out the movies when we can. So by the time December rolls around, we are more than ready to watch some of our favorite classics.

This spread is really just about enjoying the moments of the season as a family and about making our lists and checking them twice... Because it would just be sad to me to not have every little detail taken care of :). I know... I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist... and that's okay! Here's a closer look at the details...

I hope everyone has had a splendid start to their weekend! Cheers!

Lewis Family + Casey Wright Photography

I had the great opportunity of taking pictures of this sweet family in the fall. I was fortunate to have worked in athletics with this sweet mommy, so when she asked me to take pictures of her adorable family, I was very happy!

Here are a few of my favorites from our session...
I love getting to take pictures of all of these sweet families! Happy Friday, everyone! Photobucket

DD 2013 + Day 12

Today's post is a quick shot of my day 12 of December Daily. I love how this spread came together with all of the fun pops of color. Making cookies is definitely one of our favorite activities during Christmas time. We also love racing out to the mailbox to see if we received any new mail or cards... Here's a closer look at the pictures and theme...

Have a Happy Wednesday, everyone!

DD 2012 + Day 11

I know, I said I was going to have this project done about a million years ago, but the good news is that I am officially done with it, I just have the lovely job of actually sharing. And let me tell you, it feels good to have it done.

I'm also happy to say that I have managed to stay up to date with my Project Life 2013 project and I only have about a month left of 2012 to finish. Whew!

With that being said, I will totally understand if you want to ignore my December Daily posts, but for posterity's sake, I'm sharing! So without further ado... here's a look at my Day 11...

I'm excited to be sharing more bloggy goodness these days... Getting closer to having my teaching certificate and I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel! Happy Saturday, everyone! Photobucket

December Daily 2012 + Day 10

Happy Friday, everyone! Like many other people, I a have been feeling under the weather. And when I say 'under the weather' I mean that I haven't wanted to leave my bed and barely have the energy to walk across the living room to pick up the remote. I'm not quite sure what in the world I caught, but it's been brutal. And normally, when I have a day off for sickness, I end up spending just a a little bit of time hanging out in my craft room. But sadly, I did not... I was miserable... but, the good news is that I'm feeling better and spending some time blogging now :).

Today, I am sharing day 10 of my December Daily. The focus of this day was sharing our Christmas Cards for 2012. Luckily, I have a few great photography contacts and one of them was willing to exchange work with me, so we finally have some good family pictures :).

Here's a closer look at the spread...
And page one...
And page two...
Fun times... More to share :) Stay tuned!!!

December Daily 2012 + Day 9

I know what you are thinking...Why is this crazy person still posting stuff from December?!? But maybe, just maybe, some of you are still working on finishing up your December Daily, so I'm pretty much banking on that... I'm still working through the days and I'm actually caught up through Day 18. However, in an effort to make life simple, I'm deciding to post just one day at a time...

Here is a look at the Day 9 spread...
This day had two main themes - our good friend, Chippy, the elf and Peyton's extraordinary feat of winning a thousand tickets at Dave and Busters... that's right, folks, I said a thousand tickets!
feel free to read about the story here by clicking on the pictures...
Fun times! Stay tuned for more fun, soon!

December Daily + Day 8

Can I just say that I love where we live? Growing up, I didn't really get to experience the small town atmosphere - you know where people know your name and are always glad you came. Okay, so maybe not specifically that, but more along the lines of where people are very helpful. In the last few weeks, I have really been reminded of how much I appreciate the small town attitude of where I live.

Yesterday was an excellent example of this. So, Friday after taking Peyton to Topeka to the Polar Ice Cap for our Friday Funday, we ended up heading home later in the evening. Upon our return, I forgot to turn off an interior light in my car... And since I didn't end up driving at all this last weekend, well, my car battery died. Of course, I didn't figure this out until I went to start my car for the day and realized we would need to make alternate plans. So I called our local car care center and they told us that with my style of car (a Prius), it's probably better to charge the battery. So they let us borrow the charge FREE OF CHARGE! Can you believe that? Jake just went and picked it up and we charged the car and then took it back. You would NEVER find that in a larger city, unless you knew the owner. I am just so happy with the level of customer service and care they take in helping their customers. It just completely made my day!

Living in a small town also has other fun perks and that's what my December Daily highlights in my blog post today... This year, they had their first Festival of Lights Parade + Meet and Greet with Santa.
It was really cool, because it was all at night, so they decorated floats with lights and had a small parade downtown, which was great because it was coooolllld.
They even sent out these cool flyers to us in the mail, which of course I love!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, everyone!

December Daily + Day 7

I'm slooooowly plugging away at this project, but my goal is to have it done by the end of January, which would be an improvement from last year... I think I finished up my last pages in September! I've had a few friends from my college softball days ask me about how my parents are doing, so here is a fun pic and update...

Since I have been working part-time in the mornings, I always try to make sure that on most Fridays, the little one and I go and do something fun in the afternoon. On this date, we went up to Topeka to the Discovery Center and then Peyton helped Grammy and Papa put their tree up. She LOVES decorating, so my mom gladly let her do most of it!
Love this instagram pic of me and PJ...
My sewing machine, was acting up a little bit here when I tried to do the border around the picture - it's not perfect, but I still love it!
I think I need to start planning what tomorrow's funday will be! Happy Day!

December Daily + Day 6

Happy Weekend, everyone! I'm actually in the middle of working on a few different projects, so I thought I would take a quick break to share Day 6 of my December Daily project. Have I said that I LOVE this project already?!?! Today, I'm sharing a post dedicated to lights - it seemed to be a reoccurring theme this day, so I decided to make that a focus of my post...

Here's a look at the spread...
Love the Bokeh effect here with the Christmas lights :)
Can I get a shout out for Lite Brights, everyone!! You know you used to love them just as much as I did/do!
The more I work on this and all of my craft projects, the more I see an evolution of my creative side. I'm learning that I have finally figured out that there are really no rules to how these projects should look or feel, or what I should include... and I really like that...

...now back to project life... :) Maybe someday I will get around to sharing that, too...maybe....:)

Today, I am sharing Day 5 of my December Daily album :).

Lawrence has a really fun event where the fire department rescues Santa off of the top of Weaver's Department Store. Read about the details by clicking on the pictures below...
Love these shots of Peyton with Santa :)...
The story behind all of the pictures are really fun - and this page in my book, just makes me happy :)!

December Daily + Day 4

Happy Friday, everyone! Christmas vacation has officially started at our house and this year, more than ever, it seems that the Christmas magic is alive and well in our home! Decorating the trees in our home is one of my favorite holiday traditions. It's so fun to take out all of the ornaments that we have collected over the years and to think about all of our family memories.

Today's blog post is dedicated to our tree trimming process and how I documented those moments in my December Daily album... here is a look at the full spread...
I love this shot of Jake lifting Peyton up to put the angel on the top :) I also love that everyone gets so involved and excited about decorating the tree...
I also really love that we bought Peyton her own tree for her room. She LOVES that she can decorate it any way that she wants. I'm not sure what we are going to do next year though, because it seems that she already has more ornaments than space on her tree :)...
I am so glad you all stopped by to visit my little ole' blog! Have a great rest of your Friday!!! I hope that the Christmas magic is as alive in your home as it is in ours :)...

December Daily + Day 3

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope that everyone is having a great week so far. We are excited about a small winter storm that is getting ready to give us a little bit of winter fun. I'm hoping to get enough to get out and make a snowman and to sled around the yard with Peyton. In the meantime, I continue to work on more fun projects and today, I'm sharing Day 3 of my December Daily.

In today's post, I'm sharing a trip that we made to our local Bass Pro Shop. They do a really great job of having fun and free activities and they really do have the best Santa.... Here' s a look at the full spread....
Feel free to click on the picture to see the details of the journaling... My favorite is the picture of Jake and Peyton below throwing snowballs at each other :)... Hoping that is good practice for when the actual snow makes it's way here :)
Peyton still wasn't quite ready to sit on Santa's lap, so Jake and I made our way into the picture...
Thanks for stopping by everyone! Check back tomorrow for more December Daily fun!

December Daily + Day 2

Happy Day, everyone! I'm so excited to be sharing more of my December Daily project today! In our family, we know that the holidays are upon us once we start putting up the lights on our house. And each year, Jake will pick up another piece to add to the display... Of course, Peyton is really coming to the age where everything about the holidays is exciting - which has really added to the magic of the season in our home. :) Here is a look at the full spread of the day...
Can I just say that I am IN LOVE with the chevron patterned ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby - it's my jam!
Also, new this year is the use of non-traditional colors in my December Daily - although I do add hints of it with the paper products, I'm happy with using grays, turquoise, and blues.  I'm also loving these 4x6 templates that Ali Edwards is selling at Designer Digitals - it's a great way to add several pictures in a smaller space. She just released a few new stamps a couple of days ago, so I'm probably going to pick those up :).
I love that our family is so excited about the holidays - it just makes everything so special and it also makes working on this project extra fun! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project - have a great day!
