The Olivia Act + Casey Wright Photography

Today, I am reminded that pictures are more than just something we put in a frame and hang on the wall. Sometimes, they can link us to our past, connect us with our present and remind us of the love that we share with our family. And in some cases, they are the precious pieces of us that are left behind, when life happens...I am just one photographer, but I can make a difference and today, I am sharing a little bit of kindness...
The Olivia Act, named after one of the children killed in Newtown, Ct., was started by a photographer who wishes to be anonymous. Olivia’s family had family pictures taken a short time before she was killed. Those pictures are precious and now priceless to them. Upon hearing this, this photographer was moved to give away a 30 minute family photo shoot and has challenged other photographers to do the same. We go about our daily lives and sometimes we don’t take the time or have the resources to have family photos taken.

I will be taking nominations for a family in the Baldwin/Lawrence area who you think would appreciate this gift. Nominations must be made through email and not as a comment to this post. This session will take place after the New Year. I will be taking nominations until midnight New Year's Eve . Please email me at: caseywrightphotography@gmail.com. Please inbox their name, contact information and a brief summary of why you chose them, putting "THE OLIVIA ACT NOMINATION" in the subject line.

The chosen family will be contacted via email. Please do not post their information here! The gift is a session and a collection of digital portraits, so they may have priceless keepsakes to adorn their home. Please share this status. Thank you to SEVERAL of my photographer friends who are doing the same!

Photographers, please consider taking part in The Olivia Act!

Share the kindness,

Casey
