My Scrapbook....

is filled with a lot of wonderful memories and pictures and I'd like to share some of the techniques that I've been doing to make sure that my scrapbook reflects the full story.

Below are a series of pictures taken from my scrapbook for Christmas 2008. To me scrapbooking is not just about pretty paper and embellies (although they do make for fun scrapping); it's really about making sure that i'm putting together a book of full memories. Sometimes, I find that I've got some memories that don't particular have any pictures and some pictures that really speak for themselves. Or in some cases I have several pictures from one event and I only choose to scrap one or two special pictures, but want to also include some "atmosphere" photos.

In this case, I ended up doing a 8.5 x 11 page - on one side was a chronological description of the event along with a card that I made that is really a letter to my daughter. On the other side is a picture of PJ and Jake on Christmas morning...

Next is an example of when I have a lot of "atmosphere" photos and don't necessarily want to scrap all of the photos, but certainly feel that they contribute to the overall feel of the section. I can't take credit for this technique - it's actually something I learned in Ali Edward's Yesterday and Today class. But it is something that I think really adds a special something to my scrapbook...I was really happy with the way that this Christmas section ended up coming together!

As for general scrapping, here is the most recent LO that I completed. I love the simplicity and unlike most of my LO, it doesn't include any journaling - in my view the picture speaks a thousand words - ENJOY!

I, too, am now a big fan of the divided page protectors ever since Y&T. I see myself using them a lot in the future for quickly putting together stories.
