Family Fun Friday ~ Monarch Watch

Happy Friday Everyone! Today, I am sharing a fun activity that we did as a family recently at our local Monarch Way Station. We live in the middle of the United States and as many of you may know monarch butterflies migrate and regenerate in our area. It's really a lovely time of the year with all of the beautiful butterflies and all of the beautiful leaves changing.

At our local university, we have a building that is dedicated to the research and education of monarch butterflies. There, we were able to watch a demonstration about butterflies and their journey to Mexico. In fact, we were able to take a chrysalis home so that we could watch the amazing transformation of a caterpillar emerging from it's cocoon as a butterfly. It was truly an amazing experience and a good reminder of how wonderful life really is... So without futher ado, here are some pictures from our experience...

As you can see, we were able to see other lovely butterflies in our area during that time too!

Peyton wasn't too sure about the butterflies being on her, but she was definitely willing to try it out!

Isn't this beautiful?!?!
Here's a cute one of PJ and Daddy!
And of course, I had to get a picture in with my little one too! Good job on the pic, Daddy!

Well, I hope you have a great rest of your weekend and I hope that your weather is as lovely in your neck of the woods as it is here!
