Spring...finally! No - Wait...Winter?

It's so confusing to know what season it is in the midwest. Especially when you have a week like we are having now. Today's recap...upper 60s...tomorrow...upper 60s...Saturday...30s and....SNOW? WHAT?!? I guess it's true what they say around here...don't like the weather? Just wait a few days and it's likely to be completely different. Anyways, I was just happy to have a couple of days off during the nice weather to spend with my little PJ - I really do cherish these types of days :).

So, I've finally got another LO to share - I used the new kit from My Scrapbook Nook to put this together. I love this new line by Pink Paislee - the colors are so vibrant and I'm absolutely loving the Artisan Tape. It's really the little things that make me happy, people :). Here is a full shot of the LO.

This pic focuses on how I altered the hearts. I used a couple of random chipboard hearts that I had in my stash... Lathered them up in some Tim Holtz crackle paint...added the Artisan Tape...actually used some of the packaging to make the bows...and voula(sp)...done!

I also wanted to share this pic below as one of my fave techniques. Sometimes I find that a LO such as this really speaks a thousand words, so I don't end up including a bunch of journaling on my page. Instead, I put together a 6x12 journalled LO and do something similar to what I have shown below.

By doing this, I am still capturing the memories that I want to without feeling like I'm going to leave some thoughts or feelings out by having to minimize my journaling to make it look good on the page.
Also, one other trick that I would like to share...I've been noticing that more and more companies are using REALLY COOL packaging with their items... And because I'm super into recycling and reusing items I've been incorporating them into my LO. As mentioned above, I utilized the twine on the Artisan Tape to make the bows. And the item that I'm most excited about is the notebook lining that I used for my 6x12 journaling. That was actually in the packaging of my October Afternoon chipboard letters. I simply chopped off the top of the packaging that included the brand name and added some coordinating paper to the back...added some fun elements... and well you get the picture. So next time you open up the packaging to your embellishments, take a look at the packaging and see if you can incorporate it into your creativity!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Friday!

Sweet page! I hope our snow doesn't come back. The weather guy was just saying this morning that it's snowed in April! UGH! I hope not this year!
